Anger journal · private · no account
The anger journal for things you'd never post
Frustration is a private anger log and cooldown tool for Android. Log what happened, name the trigger, rate the intensity — then shred the note, shake it off, or breathe it down. Everything stays on your phone.
Launching soon on Google Play — currently pre-release.
Get it out of your head — without posting it
The angry text, the rant, the thing you almost said in the meeting: it wants out, but a group chat or a feed is the worst place for it. Frustration gives the moment somewhere private to go. Log it in seconds, vent without saving a word, pick a cooldown — and later, see which triggers keep coming back. No account, no cloud journal, no audience.
What Frustration does
Built for the 30 seconds after something sets you off.
-
Log a frustration in seconds
Drag the intensity slider from 1 to 10, then tap what set it off. Ten built-in triggers — Work, People, Self, Tech, Time, Money, Traffic, Health, Sleep, Noise — plus your own custom triggers, which you can rename or archive anytime.
-
Keep the note — or make sure it never exists
Add an optional note of up to 1,000 characters, or save without one. Choose "save without note" and the text is permanently discarded: the entry keeps only the intensity, time, and triggers. What you destroy is never stored.
-
Vent tools that save nothing
Shredder, Shake, and Void are pure release valves — type it and shred it, shake the phone, or press-and-hold and let go with three breaths. None of them store anything, ever.
-
Cool down — free, forever
Six cooldown tools ship free with no catch: Box breathing, Long exhale, 5-4-3-2-1 grounding, a Walk-away timer, a TIPP-style body reset, and the Unsent message lock. Pick one thing, do one thing.
-
Lock the angry text before you send it
The Unsent message tool lets you write the message exactly as furious as you feel — then locks it for 10 minutes. When it unlocks, you re-read it and decide with a cooler head. Most drafts don't survive the wait.
-
See the patterns
Insights show a day-and-time heatmap, your repeat triggers, and intensity trends from your saved entries. The last 7 days are free; optional Pro unlocks the all-time overview, all-time heatmap, and all-time trigger insights. Your full entry history stays browsable either way.
-
Private by architecture
Logs live in a local database on your phone. There's no account, no ad or analytics SDK, and no cloud journal — the only network feature is Google Play billing for the optional Pro upgrade. Delete entries, or reset all local data, whenever you want.
Three ways to vent. Zero records kept.
Sometimes you don't want a journal entry — you want the feeling gone. These tools exist for exactly that, and none of them saves a single character.
Shredder
Type until the pressure drops. Then shred it and watch it go. Nothing is saved — that's the point.
Shake
Grip the phone and shake the charge out of your body — or use the on-screen button if that feels safer.
Void
Press and hold. Release. Three full breaths in, out, gone — a black-screen ritual for ending the spiral.
Vent tools and all six cooldown tools are free, forever.
Frustration or Cooldown?
Same indie developer, two different apps for two different moments. Here's the honest split so you pick the right one.
Frustration — this app
- Android, launching soon on Google Play
- An anger journal first: fast trigger logging with intensity, notes, and pattern insights
- Private venting: Shredder, Shake, Void, and the 10-minute Unsent message lock
- Cooldown tools included and free, built around the log
Cooldown — the sibling app
- iOS (iPhone & iPad), on the App Store today
- An anger management app first: a big SOS button with guided calming exercises
- Learning content on the anger cycle and reframing
- Logging and insights included, built around the exercises
Your worst moments are nobody's data
A vent journal only works if you can be completely honest in it. Frustration is built so that honesty never leaves your phone.
- No account. No login, no email, no signup — ever.
- No cloud journal. Logs and notes are stored locally on your device.
- No ads, no ad SDK. Nothing on your screen is sponsored.
- No analytics SDK. No tracking of what you write or when you rage.
- Destroyed means destroyed. Shredded text and discarded notes are never stored.
- You hold the delete key. Remove entries or reset all local data in Settings.
- One network feature. Google Play billing processes the optional Pro purchase — that's it.

Frustration is pre-release and launching soon on Google Play as an Android app. There is no confirmed release date yet — the developer's Google Play page will show the listing the moment it is live.
No. There is no account, no login, no email signup, and no social feed. You open the app and log.
The core app is free: logging with triggers and intensity, the vent tools, every cooldown tool, your entry history, and 7-day insights. An optional Pro upgrade unlocks the all-time view — all-time overview, all-time heatmap, and all-time trigger insights. Pricing is shown inside the app via Google Play.
Frustration logs, notes, triggers, and settings are stored locally on your device. There is no cloud journal and no analytics or ad SDK. The only network feature is Google Play billing, which processes optional Pro purchases. You can delete saved entries or reset all local data from Settings at any time.
They are vent tools that save nothing. Shredder lets you type until the pressure drops, then shred the text — nothing is stored. Shake to release lets you physically shake the phone to discharge the moment. Void is a press-and-hold release paired with three slow breaths. All three are about getting it out, not keeping it.
Six tools, free forever: Box breathing (about 2 minutes), Long exhale (about 90 seconds), 5-4-3-2-1 grounding, a 5-minute Walk-away timer, a TIPP-style body reset, and the Unsent message tool — write the angry text, lock it for 10 minutes, then re-read it before deciding anything.
Both are by the same indie developer, but they solve different moments. Cooldown is an iOS anger management app centered on an SOS button with guided calming exercises and learning content. Frustration is an Android anger journal centered on fast trigger logging and private venting — capture the moment, shred or keep the note, and watch patterns emerge. If you want guided SOS exercises on iPhone, use Cooldown; if you want a fast private anger log on Android, Frustration is built for that.
No. Frustration is a self-reflection and general wellness tool.
